New retailers further strengthen Pyramids’ shopping offer

Birkenhead shoppers are enjoying two new services

Pyramids Shopping Centre has welcomed two new retailers in the last few weeks, with both stores winning legions of fans thanks to workshops, exceptional instore experiences and special discounts available to the community.

Electrical device repair shop, Tech Outpost – formerly known as FoneFixed and previously operating as a service centre for gadget and entertainment retailer, CEX – has moved into its own premises on Milton Pavement. Specialist travel agent, Perfect Getaways, has also joined the centre’s line-up at St John’s Square, with customers receiving first-class service on the hottest holiday packages.

Allan Beaumont, operations manager at Pyramids Shopping Centre, said it is a pleasure to welcome the two new retailers. “A few weeks have gone by since Tech Outpost and Perfect Getaways became part of our offer and we’ve been receiving brilliant feedback from shoppers about what great additions both stores are to the shopping centre.

“We work hard to bring high quality retailers to Birkenhead that offer convenience, great value and service, so we’re thrilled our new additions have settled in well and are doing a wonderful job in adding to the fantastic shopping experience we provide for our visitors.”

Martin McDonagh, owner of Tech Outpost, leads a team of four which can restore any electrical devices back to life including phones, tablets, PCs and all gadgets. He explained the move to a standalone unit in Pyramids came when the success of the business grew rapidly.

“Over the last five years, Tech Outpost has secured a strong following in the town by going the extra mile for its customers and being honest when something isn’t worth repairing,” said Martin.

“We get a large number of senior customers returning for advice, as we provide a range of complimentary services just to help out. This has led to us securing an exciting, new partnership with Age UK to offer one-to-one drop-in sessions on Mondays from 10am for older members of the community wishing to learn more about gadgets and devices.

“Our new, larger space at the shopping centre means we can now show people what we do thanks to a brilliant open-plan environment,” Martin continued. “It offers shoppers easier accessibility and also the general attitude of the precinct is such a congenial one – the staff and other stores all add up to an ideal working environment for us.”

To celebrate the upgraded store, Tech Outpost is also offering customers free, high quality iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S cases and ones for the Samsung S3, S4 and S5 cases. Shoppers can ask instore for details on how to claim one.

Offering a ‘sun-sational’ shopping experience is travel consultancy Perfect Getaways, where customers can enjoy its fully-stocked complimentary gin and prosecco bar, kid’s area complete with an Xbox and instore sweet shop.

The Birkenhead store is the first to open in The Wirral with branch manager, Sarah Noble, as captain of the ship. She is joined by a cruise expert and three travel consultants, all working hard to achieve five-star ratings on Facebook.

“We make sure our customers’ holiday really does start in one of our stores and always have lots of offers and discounts on,” Sarah said. “We are matching online quotes with Jet2 at the moment but with the added benefit that we do everything for you – checking you in and printing boarding passes. This is also backed up by our full ATOL and ABTA protection.

“We are doing our special summer 2019 weekend events too, where we match all online tour operators, and NHS workers also receive 5% off bookings so we cater to many budgets,” she continued.

“I have always wanted a store in The Pyramids as it’s in a great location and I love the fact that the footfall is amazing. We’ve received a very warm welcome from Birkenhead and we look forward to meeting even more customers and sending them on amazing trips.”
