Pirate-themed fun sails towards Pyramids Shopping Centre

Arts and crafts, storytelling and games this half-term

The team at Pyramids, which made contact with the crew of a vessel spotted on the waters of the Mersey, has confirmed that – shiver me timbers! – a pirate ship will be docking at the centre this half-term for some swashbuckling fun.

On Thursday 31 May and Friday 1 June, families on a day out at the Birkenhead shopping centre are invited on board Pyramids’ very own ‘Jolly Roger’ for a ‘Pirate Tales’ adventure. From 11am to 3pm, visitors to the free event can have a golden time hearing extraordinary sea-faring stories from the fun and friendly Pyramids Pirates who have sailed in from distant lands. Located near the food court, there will also be arts and crafts and games to take part in.

Captain and centre director of Pyramids Shopping Centre, Derek Millar, said he is looking forward to welcoming the boisterous buccaneers off their ship and onto dry land. “We haven’t had many pirate ships passing by the centre in recent times, so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get together for some fun and laughter.

“There will be plenty of entertainment for the young ones and adults will also enjoy the madcap antics and joke-telling, as the pirates are quite a set of characters,” said Derek. “I’m sure visitors will have a jolly good time at Pirate Tales and children will be able to tell all their friends that they met some real-life pirates when they go back to school after the half-term break.”
