Bing Bunny bounces into Birkenhead
Hundreds of local fans of the hit CBeebies TV programme, Bing, made the hop, skip and jump to Pyramids Shopping Centre to meet the star of the show, Bing Bunny.
Youngsters from across Birkenhead were able to meet their furry friend, Bing and his carer Flop, who were in town as part of their 13-date UK tour. The free event saw the loveable duo playing games and taking pictures with Bingsters – the nickname given to avid watchers of the show – with lucky fans also receiving Bing ears and stickers as a memento of the day.
Derek Millar, Centre Director at Pyramids, explained the day had been great fun for children and their families. He said: “It was fantastic to welcome Bing and Flop to the centre as it’s not every day that Birkenhead is graced by the presence of Emmy award-winning stars.
“We knew lots of little ones would be excited for the meet-and-greet and it was lovely to see so many happy faces meeting their TV heroes,” added Derek.
The event was organised by fun emporium, The Entertainer, which is also running a competition where photographs of children enjoying the Bing Tour can be shared on social media using the hashtag #IMetBing for a chance to win a ‘hutch-load’ of Bing goodies.
Anna Pollard, Store Manager at the Pyramids branch of The Entertainer, said: “We’re really pleased that 400 Bingsters and their families were able to enjoy time with Bing and Flop – we’re sure it has been a highlight of many kids’ summer.”
